I received my B.S. in Chemistry from Ithaca
College in May of 2003. My undergraduate research, under the
supervision of Heinz Koch, focused on investigating the kinetics of proton
exchange reactions of fluorinated aromatic compounds that we synthesized
in-house. If you go to the Ithaca
College Chemistry website, you'll find
more interesting information regarding this and other ongoing projects, as
well as some old pictures of me with a terrible haircut!
Aside from Chemistry, I'm an avid pianist of both Jazz and Classical styles.
I have performed with big bands at both Ithaca
College and at Penn
State, and I continue to play
locally in small ensembles. You’ll
find me regularly down at Bar
Bleu on Saturday nights from 10 PM – 1 AM
with the Andrew Jackson Soul-Jazz Experience. It keeps me off the
streets and out of trouble, and it's a great way to clear my head and
motivate me into thinking about critical scientific problem-solving!
Check back for updates to see where I’ll be playing next weekend.
