Academic timeline - Ph.D. (Penn State), 2008; B. Tech.
(IIT Madras), 2003; High school (Vidya Mandir, Madras), 1999.
<> I am from a South Indian city called Chennai. My high school was Vidya Mandir, in the same city. Colonial Chennai used to be called Madras, which has a type of fabric (famous in the US during the'60s) named after it. <> My father has a Ph. D. in organic chemistry; my mother teaches math at primary school; my younger sister is an architect and carnatic musician; and my brother-in-law is a grad student at UC Berkeley. <> When I am not playing cricket and/or basketball, I try and get some research done (while I am listening to music). <> I wish I had a middle initial at the least, if not a middle name; unfortunately I have neither. That is just the how South Indian nomenclatures go by. I expect that some parts of hell will break loose in the near future. |
