            Research Assistant

The Pennsylvania State University, June 2001 to present, Advisor: Dr. P.S. Weiss

- Design, create, and characterize nanoscale structures by self-assembly and conventional lithographic techniques

- Optimize orthogonal self-assembly and multilayer self-assembly techniques

- Operate atomic force microscope, scanning electron microscope, photolithography tool, ellipsometer, automated slide stainer, reactive ion etching tool, and metal evaporator

           

            NSF Undergraduate Research Experience Fellow

- Investigated short-range correlations in binary self-assembled monolayers utilizing scanning tunneling microscopy

                        - Developed methodology to quantitatively characterize these monolayers

- Separated carbon nanotubes by length using high-pressure liquid chromatography

                        - Analyzed and verified this separation using atomic force microscopy
