Rong Zhang104 Chemistry Building, #293Department of Chemistry The Pennsylvania State University University Park, PA 16802 rxz139@ psu.edu ResearchI work on low temperature, extreme-high vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy (LT-XHV STM) under the guidance of Prof. Paul. S. Weiss. I am interested in using scan probe techniques to study catalysis and dynamics of single molecules on metal surfaces. I am currently working on utilizing the ability to manipulate subsurface hydride in palladium to control chemical reactions of molecular species (e.g., thiophene, furan) on the surface and to study the reactivity of subsurface hydride at the atomic level by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS).TeachingChem 14, General Chemistry Lab I, Fall 2005 & Spring 2006, PSUWeiss group webpage Other STM research groups More about me |
